OLD TOWN TEMECULA
CANDLELIGHT WALKING TOURS
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story."
Your Old West guide will take you on a journey into the
past to the historic “boomtown” days of the 1880’s. The 90
minute tour will take you into the Historic District where
you will visit the oldest spots in Old Town Temecula.

Our tales and legends are blended with bits of human
interest and historical fact, making them entertaining
and educational for all ages.

The Town of Temecula is not the gateway to anywhere,
rather it is at the crossroads where yesterday greets
tomorrow. It is a community that was alive and kicking
long before most other California cities were born.

The name Temecula comes from the Luiseño Indian word
“Temecunga” – “temet” meaning “sun” and “-ngna” which
means “place of”. The Spanish interpreted and spelled the
word as “Temecula” translated to mean “Where the sun
breaks through the mist”. Temecula is the only city in
California to still retain its original Indian name.
